Reflections on housing from Senator Menjivar:
As a freshman Senator, Senator Menjivar is exploring her questions about California housing policy and looking for feedback and input to build her housing platform. The members of the housing working group are invited to share ideas and questions around housing policy in order to help inform her priorities. California’s Sliding Homeownership Ladder:
Muhammad Alameldin, Policy Associate with the Terner Center, presented a summary of the Terner Center’s recent report on the state of homeownership in California and their key findings. The full report is available below, as well as Muhammad’s presentation.
Support Richmond Neighborhood Housing Services’ Housing Affordability Breakthrough Challenge Application
The 2023 Housing Affordability Breakthrough Challenge is a three-round competition to identify and amplify innovative, implementation-ready housing affordability solutions. Native, Tribal, rural, suburban, and urban entities are competing for grants of up to $3 million along with technical assistance. Richmond Neighborhood Housing Services has been selected from amongst more than 430 proposals to proceed to the next round.
Nikki Beasley, Executive Director of Richmond Neighborhood Housing Services, has requested your support demonstrating the scalability and state-wide applicability of their program, in the form of support letters from organizations across the state.
